Fellows in Training (FIT) are invited to submit research abstracts and educational case reports for the Pennsylvania Chapter, American College of Cardiology Abstract and Case Study Poster Contest
All adult and pediatric cardiology fellows who are enrolled in a training program in Pennsylvania, provided they have been a fellow since July 1, 2021 are eligible to enter the competition.
Abstracts may represent work in progress or may have been previously submitted for presentation at a national meeting in 2021. Each FIT can submit more than one research abstract, but no more than three as first author. Educational case reports may be submitted, but no more than two as first author. The total number of submitted abstracts (research and case reports) may not be more than three as first author. No submissions of work already published in a journal will be accepted. Abstracts submitted to this regional competition are not precluded from submission for future national presentation.
Abstract Review, Selection and Notification
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a select panel of physicians. Up to three finalists will be nominated and invited to give an oral slide presentation in a recorded webinar format. Abstracts not chosen for presentation may qualify to be exhibited at the PaACC virtual poster session. Finalists and poster exhibitors will be notified via email.
Abstracts and Case Studies chosen for poster presentations must be uploaded to a designated Dropbox folder no later than November 10, 2021 in PowerPoint format. The posters will be available for online viewing at pcacc.org.
One first place oral slide presenter will be eligible to win a $500 American Express Gift Card. Two runners-up will each receive a $250 American Express Gift Card.
Fellows in training entering the competition must have significantly participated in the research endeavor (to be confirmed by the respective program director).
